    Welcome to the Greensburg Garden Center,
    a non profit educational organization.

    Our objectives are:
    • to stimulate interest in horticulture,
    • to provide and disseminate all forms of garden knowledge,
    • to support community improvement,
    • to create public interest in the conservation of the environment and our natural resources
    • to render assistance annually through a scholarship fund to students continuing their education in fields related to our objectives. 
    The Garden Center serves Westmoreland County and areas surrounding the region.  It operates a hub for four community garden organizations.
    The Community organizations are:
    • Cheshamac Garden Club
    • Eastwood Village Garden Club
    • Greenridge Garden Club
    • Irwin Garden Club

    Recent Announcements

    • Annual Katherine Mabis McKenna Scholarship GGC is now accepting applications for our $2,000 Katherine Mabis McKenna Scholarship.  Applicants must have completed one year in an accredited college or university pursuing a degree n botany, horticulture, forestry, landscape architecture or related field.  Graduate students may also apply.  Application forms and further information may be found by clicking on this announcement or from our scholarship chairman:  Betty Davis (724) 834-4742.  Deadline to submit application is May 31, 2014.

    • May Mart Plant Sale Friday, May 2, 3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, May 3, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  Annuals, perennials, herbs tomato plants, specialty woody ornamentals, hanging baskets, planted hypertufa containers and more!  Shred-a-thon on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to noon.  Our hot dog guys are back!  Call 724-837-0245 with any questions.

    • Bus trip to Hershey Gardens Reserve your seat now for the bus trip to Hershey Gardens on Friday, June 6, 2014.  Tickets are $110 for members and $120 for nonmembers.  We will meet here at the Greensburg Garden Center at 6:30 a.m. and plan to return around 6:30 p.m.  Enjoy the garden tour themed, "Heritage and Horticulture", butterfly house and shopping area.  Around 12:15 p.m., we'll leave for lunch at Fenicci's and enjoy their Italian lunch buffet.  Bus, tour and lunch (gratuity too) are all included.  Seats must be reserved in advance, so call 724-837-0245 to make your reservation.

    • Save the dates! Take time to stop and smell the roses, and perhaps a little chocolate in the air!  GGC's next bus trip will be to Hershey Gardens on Friday. June 6, 2014.   Our GGC Judged Flower Show at Redstone Highland is scheduled for July 11th and 12th.  No prior flower show experience is necessary and we encourage all members to attend!
