    Welcome to the Greensburg Garden Center,
    a non profit educational organization.

    Our objectives are:
    • to stimulate interest in horticulture,
    • to provide and disseminate all forms of garden knowledge,
    • to support community improvement,
    • to create public interest in the conservation of the environment and our natural resources
    • to render assistance annually through a scholarship fund to students continuing their education in fields related to our objectives. 
    The Garden Center serves Westmoreland County and areas surrounding the region.  It operates a hub for four community garden organizations.
    The Community organizations are:
    • Cheshamac Garden Club
    • Eastwood Village Garden Club
    • Greenridge Garden Club
    • Irwin Garden Club

    Recent Announcements

    • Butterfly Release GGC is hosting a free program and butterfly release on Tuesday, August 6 featuring Rick Mikula, "The Butterfly Guy". Want your own personal butterfly to release?  Butterflies can be reserved for $6.00 by calling the Greensburg Garden Center.  The doors open at noon.  The Program begins at 1:00 p.m. followed by the butterfly release.

    • GARDEN TOUR 2013 The Greensburg Garden Center's 2013 Garden Tour "The Joy of Gardening" will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. There will be 7 unique and interesting gardens to visit. Tickets are being sold in advance for $12.00 at the Greensburg Garden Center, which is open Tuesdays & Thursdays from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Tickets will be sold at the GGC office the day of the tour from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for $15.00.     • Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens BUS TRIP Wednesday, September 18$65 for GGC members$70 for non-membersIncludes bus, guided mansion tour & guided garden tour  Join us for Greensburg Garden Center’s next bus trip on Wednesday, September 18.  We are going to the Stan Hywet Mansion & Gardens in Akron, Ohio.  It is the former American Country Estate of F.A.     • Scholarship Applications for the $1,500 Katherine Mabis McKenna Scholarship award are being accepted until May 31.   Applicants must have completed one year in an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in botany, horticulture, forestry, landscape architecture or related fields. Graduate students may also apply. Eligibility is determined on the basis of scholastic standing, proven financial need, and general ability. Those applying must reside in Westmoreland County.   Application forms and further information may be obtained from Scholarship Chairman Betty Davis, 536 Santone Drive, Greensburg, PA 15601, 724-834-4742.
