    Welcome to the Greensburg Garden Center,
    a non profit educational organization.

    Our objectives are:
    • to stimulate interest in horticulture,
    • to provide and disseminate all forms of garden knowledge,
    • to support community improvement,
    • to create public interest in the conservation of the environment and our natural resources
    • to render assistance annually through a scholarship fund to students continuing their education in fields related to our objectives. 
    The Garden Center serves Westmoreland County and areas surrounding the region.  It operates a hub for four community garden organizations.
    The Community organizations are:
    • Cheshamac Garden Club
    • Eastwood Village Garden Club
    • Greenridge Garden Club
    • Irwin Garden Club

    • Annual Fall Luncheon and Raffle Our Annual Fall Luncheon and Raffle will be held on Tuesday, October 7th at J. Corks in Greensburg.  Raffle tickets are currently being sold for $5 for a chance to win one of five restaurant gift packages valued at $100 each.  Call the GGC office for tickets or more information at (724) 837-0245.

    • Stan Hywett Mansion & Gardens Tour Greensburg Garden Center will sponsor a tour of the lovely Stan Hywett Mansion and Gardens on Thursday, December 11, 2014.  Key rooms in the manor will be decorated to reflect traditions of countries around the world.  The self-guided tour will include musicians randomly performing between 5-8pm, a tree lighting ceremony, the outdoor animated light display, "Dazzle",  and new for this year is the "Gingerbread Village", located outside the conservatory.  Trip will depart Greensburg Garden Center at 12:30pm and arrive back at approximately 10pm.  Cost is $75/members and $80/non-members.  Deadline for sign-ups is Thursday, November 6th, please phone the Garden Center office at 724-837-0245.

    • September Membership Meeting Next Membership Meeting--Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at 11:00 in following with the policy that if a holiday falls the Monday before the meeting, the meeting will be held the following week.  In lieu of a speaker, we will instead hold a Plant Auction.  Sandy Truckner will be our auctioneer as you may bring a plant, vegetable, flowers or houseplant to share!  Guests are welcome and light refreshments will be served.
